Gurukul run by Maharishi Bhardwaj Veda Vidya Samiti organization

From the year 1998, 'Maharishi Bhardwaj Veda Vidyalaya' was started for the study of Vedas in the Kesar Bhawan complex located in Prayagraj, in which the Madhyandin branch of Shukla Yajurveda was studied. At present, Rigveda (Shakal branch), Shuklayajurveda Kanvashakha and Samveda Kauthum branch, Sanskrit and other modern subjects are also being studied.

Since 2007, 'Maharshi Bhardwaj Veda-Vedang Shikshan Kendra' was started at Mahavir Bhavan in Prayagraj for the study of Vedic subjects.

For admission in Gurukul, it is mandatory to pass written and oral entrance examination, in which only the best students are given admission.

The eligibility for admission in Gurukul is class 5 passed and maximum age is 11 years.

Only those students who have passed the course of Veda Vidyalaya are given admission in Vedanga Vidyalaya.



Syllabus




The curriculum of Veda Vidyalaya is of seven years, in which Vedabhushan (high school) is equivalent to Vedavibhushan (Intermediate).

Admitted students are made to practice Srimad Bhagavad Gita, Amarkosh, Stotra, Sanskrit Sambhashan etc. in the bridge course.

After Upanayana (Yajnopavit Sanskar), the Veda (Code) is studied (memorization).

Along with Vedas, preliminary study of subjects like astrology, grammar and literature etc. is done.

Besides, these students are also given general study of English, Science, Mathematics, Social Science and Computer.



examination system


Internal examinations are conducted every month to monitor the academic progress of the students.

Quarterly, half-yearly and annual examinations are conducted, passing which is mandatory for the student.

The test of memorization of traditional subjects like Vedas etc. is taken orally.

Written examination is conducted for other subjects like Sanskrit literature and English, Mathematics etc.

The annual examination of students is conducted at the national level under the organization 'Maharishi Sandipani Rashtriya Ved Vidya Pratishthan, Ujjain' and Maharishi Sandipani Rashtriya Ved Sanskrit Shiksha Board of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.

To organize Veda-Swadhyay Camp to preserve the purest form of the recitation tradition of Vedas.
